Welcome to St. Jame's Pharmacy College's Career Services
Each of your college years will provide you with possibilities to get closer to doing work you'll enjoy. The process of career discovery varies depending on your interests, experiences, and motivation level. St Jame's provides a wealth of career tools, including one-on-one advising, programs for academic and career-related interests, and St James Pharmacy chances to attend professional conferences and participate in summer activities.
Understanding that you are in command of your job development is maybe the most essential piece of information you can take away from this website. The Professional Services staff, as well as the rest of the St Jame's community, are there to answer your questions, facilitate your career education, connect you with career mentors, and assist you in making the most of your St Jame's education, but you must take the initiative. So let's get this party started!
Advanced Placement Courses
Throughout the year, the St Jame's College of Pharmacy hosts a number of events, including Advanced Placement, to help students find practicing opportunities after graduation. Students are introduced to a number of professional alternatives through the college's Foundations of Professional Development (FPD) course sequence, including post-graduate education and training opportunities such as graduate degree options, residencies, and fellowships. Career activities, such as residency showcases, mock interviews, and CV writing workshops, career fairs, and onsite interviews, are held throughout the year in collaboration with the college's student professional organizations.
During the fall semester, the College hosts a Senior Interview Day for graduating seniors seeking professional practice opportunities. Students are given information about open employment with local, state, and national pharmacy employers prior to the event, and they are given the chance to sign up for interviews with these firms. Senior Interview Day is attended by at least 60% of graduating seniors, and many of them are successful in obtaining work as a result of their interviews. Students who do not engage in this event seek jobs through other avenues after graduation. Outside of the Senior Interview Day, students who are interested in residency and/or graduate programs apply directly to these programs.
