Since its formation in 2004, St. James College Of Pharmacy Sciences (SJCOPS) has been actively involved in developing and growing quality human resources to satisfy the demands of the profession and society through well-structured pharmaceutical. According to a notification issued by the Government of India's National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, this institution is a Minority Educational Institution as defined by Article 30 of the Indian Constitution. The standard information about pharmaceuticals and their manufacture, R&D, QAQC, formulation, clinical pharmacy, and their application in various sectors of pharmaceutical sciences is provided by St. James' College of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Every year, our college places first in every pharmaceutical stream and receives university rankings in all courses. Aside from academic achievements, our college regularly engages in cultural events at the state and national levels, winning awards on multiple occasions. The institution hosts a variety of workshops, conferences, seminars, symposia, and exhibitions to keep the pharmaceutical community and the general public informed.

The learning environment at SJCOPS is extremely structured, encouraging students to work hard, gain self-confidence, and develop a winning mindset. Many students from this college work in the prestigious pharmaceutical industry as well as in the government sector. Alumni work in different areas of the pharmaceutical business around the world, and they constitute a strong network that serves to preserve SJCOPS' legacy. Oushadhavijnan-The Research Club and Poonchola-The Nature Club are two offshoots of the SJCOPS Alumni Association "NEXUS." Nexus provides funding for research/review articles to be published in the Journal of Pharma Innovative Research (JPIR). The Nexus, in collaboration with the placement cell, oversees and manages the placement efforts at Oushada Udhyogamela. The college also has a nature club called "Poonchola" that aims to raise environmental awareness and enable students to take action on a variety of topics. On the college grounds, we hold regular activities and maintain the "Nakshatravanam" and Herbal Garden. SJCOPS's green campus provides the ideal environment for students to fulfill their professional goals while also contributing to society as good citizens.

Our Facility

The SJCOPS is situated on the banks of the Chalakudy River. The college is equipped to meet the requirements of statutory organizations. 24 well-equipped laboratories, LCD-mounted classrooms, an air-conditioned central instrumentation room with analytical instruments and a multimedia room, and an auditorium make up the infrastructure.

LABORATORIES

One of the college's assets is 24 well-equipped labs with cutting-edge technology. Every student gains real-world experience from practical workshops.

HERBAL GARDEN

Herbs play an important role in human life, and our country is fortunate to have a wide variety of therapeutic plants. The herbal garden of St James College of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Chalakudy is extensive, featuring a variety of medicinal and fragrant plants. Nutritional plants, Cosmetic plants, 'Nakshathravana' (Star woodland), Aquatic Plants, and Ornamental plants are among the areas of the garden. The herbal garden has everyday amenities such as cleaning and watering.

DRUG MUSEUM

SJCOPS has a drug museum and a pharmacognosy laboratory in the B.Pharm block. Solid dosage forms (Tablets, Capsules), semisolid dosage forms (Ointments, creams, gels, suppositories), and liquid dosage forms (Ointments, creams, gels, suppositories) are all represented in the museum (Solutions, emulsions, suspensions). Various herbal drugs can be found in the museum. We have 80 crude drug samples, a herbarium, T.S charts for various parts of plants, and conserved plant specimens at the Pharmacognosy laboratory.

What exactly is D.Pharma?

The D.Pharmacy Course is a career-oriented curriculum in the medical field of pharmacy that aims to familiarize students with the fundamental ideas of pharmaceutical science.

The program's goal is to prepare students for entry-level careers in retail pharmacies and pharmaceutical businesses by providing them with the essential skills and academic knowledge. The course focuses on the theory, as well as the many ideas and practices that are involved in the science of pharmacy.

Pharmacy software practice, accurate and safe prescription processing, compounding techniques, third-party billing, inventory control, adherence to relevant legislation, accurate and confidential record-keeping, and effective verbal and written communication are all topics covered in the D. Pharmacy Syllabus.
